Mise-en-scene and camera shots

Image
For my team and I film the mise-en-scene and camera shots are important to the understanding of the film. Mise-en-scence: Location - School (Lauderhill 6-12) because it plays a big role in our movie that the location is at school. It also influences the way the characters act  Costume - The opening character will wear black giving the person a negative and bad feeling, Yet Monica will have certain white elements to her to show her goodness shining through yet at the end will be completely black to show her transformation to the "dark side" Lightning - The opening of the film will include dark lighting to set the mood then the majority of the movie will have adequate lighting to help the viewer understand the setting. Lastly, the last part of our movie will have to darken lighting that flashes. Camera shots: The first shot seen will be a low-angle pan shot. The pan shot will work as a transition to show a floor angle shot to show someone standing and another person running. ...

Current Shooting Schedule

My team and I have planned to take advantage of Saturdays and our study hall to record our film opener. We have specific things that we want to focus on to allow us to keep ourselves at a steady pace along with giving ourselves time to make adjustments and a good window period to re-shoot certain shots if needed. Film Schedule Nov 19 th   (coming Saturday) – Casting       Opening scene along with sound               Determine how to work the camera 2-3 hour Potential: Nov 22 & 23: Closet scene Nov 26 (Saturday of thanksgiving break): Crazy girl Scene               Makeup?  December 3 rd  (First Saturday of December)

Location and Sound

Soundtrack My team and I took time to search for the soundtrack we wanted to use for our film. A problem we ran into is finding music that was copyrighted free that still fit the scene of our movie. Fortunately, we found 3 mixes on YouTube that fit our film and we all agreed that once we begin shooting we'd use the 3 mixes we found and we'd pick the parts that would fit us. YouTube Video Links Found: https://youtu.be/a5N99v5VmPk https://youtu.be/ljbrKDwXYt8 https://youtu.be/4m_Alceujck Location Since my team and I are shooting our film at our school (Lauderhill 6-12) we decided to come in on a Saturday and scout out locations. We all agreed without hesitation on using the closet room in our Media Studies teacher building due to the closet having a natural flickering light and a small confined space which will help convey the broke...

Props, budget, and obstacles

Props: For our film, there aren't many props that we need to produce our film. We need a costume that is black and lengthy enough to hang. We also need something that resembles the shape of a gun. (At this point my team is thinking of using my brother's nerf guns)  Budget: Our budget is not a large amount and only consists of finding a cheaper option for the costume were looking for. Store Price Walmart $ 31.98 Amazon $ 15.99 Target $ 22.79 Obstacles: For our film, we face the obstacle of not having enough background characters for our hallway scene. To combat this, during our Saturdays we decided that we would use other groups who were around to play background characters. We also decided to shoot the hallway scene during first period since the majority of upperclassmen will be in study hall.

Completing the Script (Jan 25 - Feb 2)

Image
Over the past couple of days, my team and I have taken the time to brainstorm our cast and what we want our script to be. We had a little bump in figuring out the end of our movie but ultimately came to a decision.   Cast For our movie, we have 2 main characters but all 4 group members will work together to produce our film. Melody and I decided we would play the mean girls in our movie (Jessica and Alissa ) Mikaela decided to play the "crazy girl" (Monica) Isabella decided to be our main camera person. Lastly, we are looking for someone outside our group to play the dead girl in our movie. (Lindsey) Script Our script is more so based on the visuals so it isn't a long script. My group and I did try to focus more so on the ambiance and feel the audience would receive while watching our film. For our film we decided to use our school as our location due to the end of our film where our final scene will bring everything together.
